Adult Education

DOCC is an adult education program designed to provide an experience in building Christian community while encouraging individual spiritual development. It is not volunteerism, therapy, or bible study, although scripture does play an important role. DOCC provides a time to examine our own spiritual journey while making a greater commitment to Jesus Christ and experiencing being part of a caring community.

The DOCC course consists of 15 sessions. Each session is in two parts: a presentation, led by a theologically trained person who has attended a DOCC training conference, and a small group discussion. The course will start on October 9 and continue on Tuesday nights. There is a fee of $50 for materials, but no one will be excluded if this is a hardship.

Much of the work of the program occurs within the small group setting.  Therefore, a commitment to regular attendance is very important. Through DOCC, participants are given the opportunity to:

Get the basics of the Christian faith and come to understand the biblical world and the world we live in

Explore and comprehend the life and ministry of Jesus

Discover just what it actually means to BE a Christian

Learn about prayer, and how to pray

Experience the church as a small, caring fellowship

Together we will experience BEING the church - not just belonging to a church.
