Over the next few months the Thursday Bible Study class will launch into a reading of the Pauline Epistles. The class will start with a chronological reading of Paul’s letters.

Class time will be devoted not only to reading each letter, but to reflecting upon how it challenges us spiritually. How do Paul’s letters to his various congregations speak to us today? What do they ask of us, and how do we best respond to them?

Primary source materials for the course are the Pauline Epistles and the Acts of the Apostles. While the majority of the Bible Study participants use the New Revised Standard Version of The New Oxford Annotated Bible with Apocrypha due to the usefulness of its footnotes, any Bible is welcome in the class. Additionally, participants are strongly encouraged to read Thinking through Paul: A Survey of His Life, Letters, and Theology by Bruce W. Longenecker and Todd D. Still

The course begins on Thursday, 9 February at with a screening of the PBS documentary In the Footsteps of St. Paul, narrated by David Suchet. The group meets weekly on Thursdays from 9:30- 11:00am.

No previous background in scriptural reading is needed to participate in this class. All are welcome!
