We Learn: Children’s Curriculum
“Children are a gift of the Lord.” - Psalms 127:3
Children's ministry nurtures our children and helps them follow in the footsteps of Jesus as they become the next generation of the Church. Church school is a weekly program for preschoolers through twelfth graders, staffed by a dedicated and well-trained team of volunteer teachers each Sunday.
Our curriculum
Pre-K and Kindergarten:
Godly Play is a much loved institution here at Epiphany. Its creative and imaginative approach invites kids into familiar Bible stories and then allows them to engage the stories through free play with art and story materials.
Grades
1-6:
Our first through sixth graders are taught using the Workshop Rotation Model. Over the course of 4 weeks the kids explore a single Bible story or theme through a variety of different mediums. For example, they may attend an art workshop the first week, a dance workshop the second, and finish up the rotation with science and drama workshops for the last 2 weeks
Grades
7-9:
Rite 13 focuses
on celebrating the individuality of each
young person and their creative potential.
Rite 13 is fun - games are played, children
laugh a lot, and they learn a lot. Matters
are treated in a light-hearted way, but
that does not mean that serious matters
are avoided. Much time is devoted to the
great stories of Holy Scripture
and their validity in our day.
Grades
10-12:
Our high school education program is centered around the spiritual
journey as young adults. Each week, we gather in the Garrett of the
Old Parish Hall to support one another as we come
to listen, share and learn about our developing relationship with
God.
