We Learn: vacation bible school

childrenvbs “Children are a gift of the Lord.” - Psalms 127:3

Vacation Bible School is typically offered the end of June for 1 week, Monday-Friday, from 9am - noon. We are now planning for this year's camp and a description about the curriculum will be available online soon.  VBS days are filled with music, art, science projects, bible stories, snack and special events like rock climbing or listening to a visiting owl trainer show and teach the children about owls.  Typically 90 children attend between the ages of 4 and 11, preschool through grade 5.  Middle schoolers and High School Youth group members join in as counselors and teacher helpers.  The program is run by parishioners who lead and teach the curriculum.  The adult child ratio is 5:1 for the older children and 4:1 in the younger groups.  The day moves swiftly as the children move from one activity to the next with each activity lasting 20 minutes each.   The week ends with a wonderfully lively presentation by the entire group usually lead by Epiphany's inspiring music director, Suzanne McAllister.
