We Learn: vacation bible school

Vacation Bible School is typically offered the end of June for 1 week. VBS days are filled with music, art, science projects, bible stories, snack and special events like rock climbing or listening to a visiting owl trainer show and teach the children about owls. Children between the ages of 4 and 11, preschool through grade 5 are invited to attend. Middle schoolers and high school members join in as counselors and teacher helpers. The program is run by parishioners who lead and teach the curriculum. The adult child ratio is 5:1 for the older children and 4:1 in the younger groups. The day moves swiftly as the children move from one activity to the next with each activity lasting 20-30 minutes each. The week ends with a wonderfully lively presentation by the entire group and a family picnic.

Avengers of Faith!
A superhero themed bible school aimed at teaching children about 5 heroes of the bible.
Each day our heroes in training will learn one quality of a superhero in the context of a biblical hero and will be encouraged to see how they can use that quality in their own lives. Over the course of the week the children will create their own superhero costumes as a means of internalizing the lesson of the day. At the end of the week children will have the knowledge and courage to be Avengers of Faith each and every day!
