We serve: books for Literacy
A book can not only create a love of learning, but also give direction, meaning, inspiration, and hope to its reader.
Books for South Africa is a Massachusetts based nonprofit organization that collects donated books at two book collection containers at the Winchester Transfer Station and sends them to needy schools and communities in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa to promote literacy. We’ve been donating books to poor rural communities in SA since 2000.
The organization seeks to raise funds to buy Zulu language books (the medium of instruction until Grade 3, after which English is taught as well) and help set up libraries in very poor areas that lack these facilities. We’ve been donating books to poor rural communities in SA since 2000. Please contact our Coordinator of Volunteers, Michelle Ross, if you'd like to help out.
