Children's Book Shipments

CBS collects children’s book through a variety of book drives. Within the Epiphany family, we also coordinate with other ministries to provide books to places like Brookview House and the Blackstone library in Boston.  Beyond Epiphany, CBS sent 60 pounds of books to Sri Lanka. Our contact in Sri Lanka, Nirukshi, works with Emerge Global, a non-governmental non-profit organization, that teaches entrepreneurial skills through jewelry making to young girls who have become pregnant through rape or incest. Emerge works with 2 different homes for young mothers and their babies. CBS sent picture books, coloring books and crayons, and some small toys for the girls and their babies. In addition, and at Nirukshi’s request, sent children’s Christian books for her to hand out at her church.

CBS also sent over 100 pounds of books to the Recovery School District in New Orleans. RSD helps underperforming schools within Louisiana. We’ve brought many boxes of children’s books to the Reading Food Pantry for the clients to select books for their children and grandchildren. Other books were sent to the Cardinal Cushing School in Braintree. Cardinal Cushing School has a variety of programs for the developmentally disabled.
