We serve: committees
Parishioners staff and run the standing committees and several ad hoc committees. The clergy, wardens and vestry rely on the leadership of committee chairpersons and these persons meet quarterly with the Director of Lay Ministry to exchange information, coordinate activities, and support one another in their roles as parish leaders.
Altar Guild
The focus of our worship at The Parish of the Epiphany is the Holy Eucharist. It is the Altar
Guild’s responsibility to prepare the Sanctuary at each service so that this rite is performed smoothly. Our efforts lead to the clergy administering the sacrament and the congregation receiving it so they can reflect on its meaning without distraction.

Children's ministry programs include weekly Church School and Children's Chapel, as well as Vacation Bible School. The committee advocates for children in the parish and supports families as they seek to deepen their lives of faith.

Epiphany Visitors
The Epiphany
Visitors extend warm,
personal caring with regular visits to
parishioners who are homebound, living
in nursing homes or unable to attend
church on a regular basis. Through
these visits, parishioners know they
are remembered and a part of our Christian
community. A festive Annual Tea
is held for those who are visited.

Faith and the Environment
What the Committee sees as its role
at Epiphany is simply put but harder
to carry out – we believe parishioners
for the most part know about the fragility
of natural systems and humanity’s
critical dependence on them. We serve
by helping present ways to deepen stewardship
practices and occasionally to enrich
understanding.

Friends in Deed We are a group of parishioners who volunteer to help other parishioners when illness or other life issues put them in need of assistance. The “Friends” welcome new additions to their list of folks who are willing to help cook, drive or assist in other ways . . . but primarily cook. Being on the list simply means that you will be advised by email whenever there is a parishioner in need and given the opportunity to assist as you are inclined or able to help. If you are interested in possibly helping another parishioner from time to time throughout the year, please advise the office or contact Joy Cass, Priscilla Burns, Jill Richardson or Susan Malloy.

Flower Guild
Every Sunday, except during Lent, the
Flower Guild graces the altar with fresh flowers, which are creatively placed in vases to honor the memory of family and friends who have died. In addition, the Flower Guild decorates the church for three large floral events: Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We provide geraniums for the children at Easter and poinsettias at Christmas for those who have lost a family member during the year.

Gifts and Memorial Committee
An important part of the spiritual
and community life at Parish of Epiphany
is giving gifts in memory of loved ones
and dear friends, in thanksgiving and
for the life of the parish in future
years. Gifts
and bequests are overseen
by the Gifts and Memorial Committee that
serves in an advisory capacity to the
Rector and in consultation with the Vestry.

Outreach Committee
Outreach means all the services Epiphany offers outside the church. The Committee supports outreach services in two ways. First, parishioners who are involved with local, national or international service groups or agencies bring the needs of these groups to the committee. We let the parish know about these opportunities for involvement and we offer monetary and material support, time and/or talent.
Secondly, we run large parish-wide outreach projects like the Lenten Project, the Thanksgiving Basket food drive and the Advent Giving Tree, inviting the participation of all members of the congregation.Betsy Walsh and Kate Reynolds, Co-chairs

Parish Life Committee
The mission of the Parish Life Committee is to foster a healthy, dynamic atmosphere in which all members feel included in our community of faith. Our responsibilities include a particular emphasis on new member ministry. The health and well being of our Parish Community is dependent on our ability to assist people on their spiritual journey—to help them find their way in and incorporate them into our family.
Nancy Solomon, Chair
Pastoral Care Committee
The Pastoral Care Committee’s
mission is to join with the clergy and
other parish groups to help meet the
pastoral needs of the parish. We
are composed of several subcommittees:
the Lay Visitors, Friends in Deed, and
Accessibility. The “Friends in Deed” focus
particularly on those with acute pastoral
needs, especially the stresses that follow
acute illness or surgery, childbirth, or
bereavement. Our Lay Visitors subcommittee
is committed to sharing the welcome and
warmth that are the hallmark of the Epiphany
community.

preventive maintenance projects prior
to approval by the vestry; developing

Stewardship Committee
Stewardship is about caring for something precious, sustaining it, ensuring that it’s around for generations to come. Too often, stewardship in churches is reduced to buildings, budgets, and pledges. At Epiphany, we worry about budgets, true. That’s responsible. But we like to think more broadly – about stewardship as thankful responsibility to God and God’s work in the world, and to the community and its mission. We see this responsibility as incorporating both a spiritual and a financial commitment to Epiphany and all of God’s church.

Women of Epiphany
The mission of the Women
of Epiphany (WE) is to unite all women of the Parish of the Epiphany in a program of outreach, worship, stewardship, and fellowship, which will deepen and strengthen their spiritual lives and lead them to service in and beyond the parish. WE activities are open to all parishioners, and our events are open to the community.
