We serve: st. stephen's

St. stephens

St. Stephen's is an active community of Christians with a lively, welcoming liturgy and a wide range of ministries in the Boston community.

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, our sister parish in the South End, receives financial contributions and monthly food deliveries for their food pantry from the Parish of the Epiphany.

BSAFE The Bishop’s Summer Academic and Fun Enrichment Program is a summer program run by St. Stephen’s Youth Programs (SSYP) based at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Boston’s South End. The mission of St. Stephen’s Youth Programs is to serve neighborhood children and teens by providing them with a safe, challenging, and supportive community in which they can thrive. They strive to build a community where all people feel safe, feel big, and feel connected. Epiphany has a long history of partnering with them to support the work they are doing with inner city youth. One way we support their work is by sponsoring a week of their BSAFE Program. They hope to grow to 575 youth served this summer! The real cost of the program for each child is $670 but BSAFE only charges $75. They depend on 900 volunteers and 55 partner churches of which we are one. By sponsoring a week of camp, we provide a hot lunch everyday, leave an afternoon snack and provide a full day Friday field trip. To make this happen, we need your help!

Epiphany's BSAFE Week was July 11 - July 15, 2011

We prepared and served meals at St. Stephens Monday, July 11 through Thursday, July 14 and made bag lunches and lead field trips to Water Country in Portsmouth, NH and to the Ecotarium in Worcester, MA on Friday, July 15.  Thank you everyone for all your help and food donations !!  We absolutely could not have done it without you !

Other ways to support BSAFE include volunteering to help at BSAFE with academic or enrichment activities, sharing a talent or skill, making a Costco run for breakfast supplies or making a financial gift. Please contact Betsy Walsh if you have any questions, or would like more information
