We serve: council for social concern

Woburn council for social concern

If you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord .... - Proverbs 19:17

The Council for Social Concern is a charitable, community-based agency responding to the basic needs of people of all ages, providing early childhood education and care, helping individuals develop their potential, creating positive family and community relationships, and fostering respect for diversity.

The Parish of Epiphany supports this important ministry with ongoing collections of food staples and financial donations. Every few weeks, volunteers drive goods donated in the grocery cart in the church Narthex to CSC.   The CSC especially needs food donations over the summer months when donations tend to taper off, to help families feed children home from school.  Please contact Nancy Solomon if you would like to help with this ministry.  Click here for a wish list of food items needed at the food pantry.

Every November we hold a parish-wide Thanksgiving food drive.   We collect food for the Thanksgiving baskets (estimated at $3000) distributed by CSC.  Click here for a list of items needed for Thanksgiving.  The food will be delivered on Thursday, November 15th.

In December the parish provides 50 Christmas gifts for children in their day care program through the Giving Tree.  Please contact Barbara Foot if you have questions.
