we worship: altar guild

The focus of our worship at The Parish of the Epiphany is the Holy Eucharist.

It is the Altar Guild’s responsibility to prepare the Sanctuary at each service so that this rite is performed smoothly. Our efforts lead to the clergy's administering the sacrament and the congregation's receiving it so they can reflect on its meaning without distraction.

The Altar Guild also takes care of the maintenance of the silver, linens, hangings, and candles that set the stage for worship. Working quietly behind the scenes, washing, polishing, mending, and ironing so that the greatest gift we receive—the very Body and Blood of our Lord—is received with dignity and reverence. The Guild prepares the altar for  services held in both the church and in the chapel.
