Dear families,

This week is First Sunday Worship, when all ages worship together during the 10am service.  Many children will have special roles and jobs. If your child would like a role in this or following "First Sunday" services, please let me know. We also have several baptisms with Sunday, which is always just a delight to witness and take part in. Nothing says holy worship quite like babies and bells, I think!

Now that November is here, we are preparing for Advent -- yes, that's right, we prepare for the season of preparation. Our Christmas Pageant will be on Christmas Eve -- Saturday, December 24 -- during the 4pm service. All children are invited to take part, and rehearsals will be held at 11:15am on Sundays during December -- look for more information next week on how to sign up!

Peace,

Bryn

Youth Board Game Night: Saturday, November 5

All youth (6th -12th grade) are invited to a Board Game Night on November 5th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Bring a game to share.

Parents and siblings are also welcome to join! Please RSVP to Janelle at jhiroshige@3crowns.org

More Help Needed for Pie-Making Event!

One of our favorite service projects and fundraisers of the year! Children are welcome!

Apple pies will be available for sale beginning on November 11 at the end of the the pie-making event and for sale again on November 13 after both services. Also, pies will be available during the Christmas Fair on November 19.

Pies are still $15 each this year — get yours before they're gone. Thank you!

Needed: 4 or 5 Good Shoe Boxes

Church School needs 4 or 5 good sturdy shoe boxes, for a service project we'll be doing the Sunday before Thanksgiving (11/20). These need to be in good condition, sized for adult shoes (but not boots). The lid can hinge or come off (box and lid needed). If you have any sturdy shoe boxes, can you bring them to church with you on Sunday or to Midweek next Wednesday? You can leave them in the Church Office, or the Suter Room if the office is closed. Thank you!

Epiphany's Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

Our Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive starts now! Our Epiphany congregation will continue our tradition of contributing to the Council of Social Concern food drive for Thanksgiving dinners for families. Last year we had a tremendous outpouring. May we count on you to assist again?

A list of suggested food items is available below. Local supermarket gift cards are needed too. (Please put gift cards with amount noted on card into envelopes.) Bring donations to the narthex (church lobby) on October 23, October 30, November 6, or the final Sunday, November 13.
Gift cards can also be placed in the office or in the secure drop box left of office door.

The Council of Social Concern’s mission is serving individuals and families who are in need through their food pantry, early education and child care programs.

Church School: Parent Helpers Needed

We ask each family with children in Church School to have a grown up (parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle) volunteer with us at least one Sunday per trimester to help support our classes.

Please choose your Sunday HERE. Thank you!

This is a great opportunity to be with your child and see what they are learning, and it helps our amazing Children's Ministry volunteer team to keep our classes supported and running smoothly.

Church School Registration

If you haven't registered your children for Church School, please take a quick minute to do so. This gives us important information like allergies and opting into (or out of) photo permissions. We re-register each year to keep our information current. Thank you!

Upcoming Youth Events

Please mark your calendars for the following upcoming youth activities!

  • November 5: Board Game Night, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
  • December 10: Christmas Movie Night, 7:00 - 9:00 pm Note new date!

Choristers: This Wednesday Evening

The Chorister choir program at Epiphany is for children entering grades 2-8. Our weekly rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 5:15-6:15pm (a snack and optional skills session will also be offered from 6:15-7:00pm on many Wednesdays). Children will receive professional music theory and vocal training, and will sing in church monthly (on First Sundays).

This program isn’t just for Epiphany parishioners—children are welcome and encouraged to bring friends along to try out the program. It is perfectly acceptable to try out the program for a few weeks without committing to the entire season. Please reach out to Jeremy Bruns, Director of Music & Organist at jbruns@3crowns.org with any questions.
