Dear families, The youth had a wonderful time sneaking through the church tunnels last weekend. This was my daughter's first venture in (despite all the hours she racks up here!) and my younger child was definitely jealous that he hasn't gotten down there yet. But, this is a sort of "right of passage" for our youth, something our younger friends can look forward to when they get to middle school. If any of you grownups are feeling left-out of the (slightly spooky) fun and thinking how much you'd like to duck under pipes or climb over short walls, let us know. Maybe, just maybe, adults could do something as cool as our youth sometime. Thanks to Janelle and Fred B. for fearlessly leading this expedition! We have Church School this Sunday (Suter Library room for older elementary; Upper Parish Hall for younger elementary and preschoolers), and both groups will have fun hands-on ("hands-in") work to try. The following week, Nov. 13, is First Sunday Worship when children stay in the 10am service of worship and have special roles and jobs. If your child would like a role in the Nov. 13 service, please let me know. Peace, Bryn

Epiphany's Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive
Our Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive starts now! Our Epiphany congregation will continue our tradition of contributing to the Council of Social Concern food drive for Thanksgiving dinners for families. Last year we had a tremendous outpouring. May we count on you to assist again?
A list of suggested food items is available below. Local supermarket gift cards are needed too. (Please put gift cards with amount noted on card into envelopes.) Bring donations to the narthex (church lobby) on October 23, October 30, November 6, or the final Sunday, November 13. Gift cards can also be placed in the office or in the secure drop box left of office door.
The Council of Social Concern’s mission is serving individuals and families who are in need through their food pantry, early education and child care programs.
Questions? Please ask Ellen W. Rockefeller, Coordinator and member of Mission and Outreach Committee

Congratulations to Mags (Margaret) Valdini
Congrats to 7th-grader Mags (Margaret) Valdini on winning a scholarship from the Young Organist Initiative (YOI) of the Boston Chapter of American Guild of Organists (AGO). The YOI holds annual scholarship auditions and awards a set number of scholarships each year to 6th-12th grade students interested in studying organ. Previous organ study is not expected; the awards are designed to provide a first year of instruction for interested students.
The cash award of $1,000 will pay for Mags to study with Jeremy Bruns at Epiphany this season. In June, Mags will perform with other scholarship winners at the historic King’s Chapel in Boston. She is also awarded a free year of membership in the Boston Chapter of the AGO. You may well see and hear her at Epiphany’s organ bench from time to time during the current season— stay tuned!
The next round of YOI auditions will likely be held in the spring. If you have a current 5th-11th grader who might be interested in such an opportunity, please do reach out to Jeremy Bruns for more information, at: jbruns@3crowns.org

Church School: Parent Helpers Needed
|
We ask each family with children in Church School to have a grown up (parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle) volunteer with us at least one Sunday per trimester to help support our classes. Please choose your Sunday HERE. Thank you!
This is a great opportunity to be with your child and see what they are learning, and it helps our amazing Children's Ministry volunteer team to keep our classes supported and running smoothly.

Church School Registration
|
If you haven't registered your children for Church School, please take a quick minute to do so. This gives us important information like allergies and opting into (or out of) photo permissions. We re-register each year to keep our information current. Thank you!

Choristers: This Wednesday Evening
The Chorister choir program at Epiphany is for children entering grades 2-8. Our weekly rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 5:15-6:15pm (a snack and optional skills session will also be offered from 6:15-7:00pm on many Wednesdays). Children will receive professional music theory and vocal training, and will sing in church monthly (on First Sundays).
This program isn’t just for Epiphany parishioners—children are welcome and encouraged to bring friends along to try out the program. It is perfectly acceptable to try out the program for a few weeks without committing to the entire season. Please reach out to Jeremy Bruns, Director of Music & Organist at jbruns@3crowns.org with any questions.
