Choirs“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing." Psalm 100:1-2 We offer our music as a way to praise God. And at the same time, it is often in our music that we draw closer to God and hear God. Music can speak to our souls and nourish our spirits. Our deep tradition of musical excellence draws us in and sends us out renewed and refreshed. Parish ChoirThe Parish Choir is comprised of highly committed volunteer singers, supported by professional section leaders, who offer the finest choral music in the Anglican tradition. Drawing from many periods in history and honoring current-day composers, we focus on music’s unique place in liturgy. We are a warm, friendly group, constantly striving for excellence, who are committed to serving Christ and our community with our musical offerings in regular rehearsal and worship. The Parish Choir rehearses throughout the school year (September – May) on Thursday evenings from 7:15 - 9:15 pm and sings at the 10:00 am service as well as at choral evensong, funerals, and feast days. During the summer months (June – August) we suspend Thursday rehearsals, but continue to sing in the form of a summer ‘pickup’ choir. ChoristersThe Chorister choir program at Epiphany is for children with unchanged voices in grades 2-8. This program provides professional musical training to children in a challenging and fun environment at no financial cost to parents. In addition to making friends and having fun, benefits also include professional training in singing and music-reading skills, development of leadership and intellectual skills, learning the value of teamwork and self-mastery, and spiritual formation through the singing of sacred music. Previous musical experience isn’t necessary for admission — choristers will learn everything they need to know at Epiphany. |
